1st dinner in the 1st decade of the 20-1st century…

It was a long planned gathering postpone from November to December and finally into the new year of 2010. Various places has been proposed and changed and finally Daniel chose this “nose to tail” eating place right in the middle of city center. We have a good turn up except for one couple who can’t make it due to last minute emergency (it’s OK! We had eaten on your behalf! :D ).

On the side, this is also an event for us to meet the new member of our group – Zhou Hin! Although it’s been a while but it’s good to see him! He is almost 8 months old now. So cute and adorable! Alright, enough of crap, I know you’ve been waiting for some foodies shots…

We had a few beer during the meal and total damage was RM700.00 (RM100.00 per person). I would say the price is slightly above average but good food!. Finally, a poster view of Elcerdo – nose to tail eating…

Injury!

While driving back from Jusco, a flying stone hit my windscreen and here’s the damage! My new ride is barely 3 months old!!! Guess that’s part and parcel of city driving, dents and cracks on your car cannot be avoided. Sigh…

Looks like I have to call up Dr. Windscreen next week to fix my ride. Someone told me it cost around RM70 to repair the crack (about 2cm long), do you have any experience with them?

Jalan Jalan Cari Makan…

A 3D2N trip to my hometown located in the nothern region of Malaysia – Taiping. This trip was planned to happen early December, however due to my busy travel schedule, it got pushed towards the end of the year. Finally, thanks to dad for helping on hotel booking, we make it between 27th ~ 29th Dec 2009. A family of 5 going on my new ride “again” up north…

As the name of this post says, we are really going for food around Taiping as well as some shopping on leisure. Without spending more time explaining where we go and what we eat, let’s jump straight to the photos…

After some research on Internet, we decided to drive up to Kuala Sepetang (十八丁) to hunt for seafood. It’s a coastal town feature the first railway in Malaysia (since 1885) between Port Weld (now knows as Kuala Sepetang) and Taiping. The drive took us approximately 30mins and here we go…

There is one place that we kind of going every time we are back in Taiping. Personally, I like this place very much simply because they serve my favourite – Lok Lok. We were here almost right after the lunch in Kuala Sepetang. Everyone arrive with a “pretty” full stomach, hence, we didn’t eat a lot…

Why Potong?

Recently found out about TMnet Streamyx 4mbps upgrade cost RM140/mth for first 4 months then RM150/mth subsequently. Since I’m paying RM110/mth now for 1mbps, it’s really a small jump in cost but huge jump in speed! After 4 weeks waiting (simply because I was travelling and didn’t chase the installer), finally I’m now happily enjoying the “so-called” fastest broadband in town…

a trip go west…

To complete my north-south-east-west travel tale, I finally started (I would say) the last travel before Christmas 2009. This time around I have to be out on the road for approximately 3 weeks, it’s quite tough for me given my wife is halfway thru her pregnancy and I should really by her side whenever possible. Just a few shots so far – Taiwan, Netherland and United Kingdom…

Thanks to the nice weather, I manage to get quite a good walk around London. But, travelling alone wasn’t that great, wish to have my family here with me. Can’t wait to go home…

a trip go east…

When : 20th Nov 2009 ~ 24th Nov 2009
Where : Kota Kinabalu, Sabah
Who : Sister, Aunties and Me!
What : To attend brother-in-law’s wedding

First time staying in Sutera Harbour Resorts, we booked The Pacific Sutera which suppose to be the “low end” wing of Sutera Harbour but we find the room and scenery were awesome. The better one is Magellan Sutera which we plan to stay for next visit.

Now, more photos…I must admit my photography skill is still amatuer :) I’m hoping to get a DSLR to do more portrait shooting in the near future. On the way back, we stopped by Juru Auto City to grab a coffee while mom and dad visit aunty’s shop at Bukit Mertajam. Then, another stop in Taiping to visit uncle and send him the “Kwan Yin Theng Loh Mee”. Then again, last stop in Gunung Rapat (Ipoh) for the famous “Pong Piah” before heading straight back to KL.

Brunch with In-Laws

I was told my mother-in-law likes the dim sum in Li Yen restaurant (Ritz-Caltron Hotel), hence we decided to go there for brunch with them and wife’s aunties. The restaurant serves really delicious dim sum, one of the best you can get in KL. In fact, dim sum is originated from Hong Kong but those top chefs for making dim sum no longer lives in Hong Kong anymore, they all travel abroad since their skills is well appreciated oversea.
